Adorable Stars for July

Take a look at the adorable card we'll be making in July using the Lovely You stamp set and the Stitched Stars Framelits

If you place an online order by Friday, June 26,
you'll qualify for BOGO 2020
Must use this host code during check out: FXTHFUVY

I used the coordinating In Color Designer Series Paper for the background circle.

The In Color Twill Ribbons are SO soft and easy to use!

To create the 3D effect of the star:

  • Score from one point of the star straight across to the "crook" of the other side.
  • Then turn and score the next point the same way.
  • Do that for all 5 points.
  • Stack two or three Stampin' Dimensionals together and adhere to the underside center of the star.

Don't forget - Your order can qualify for FREE products if you place it online by Friday, June 26 and use this host code during check out: FXTHFUVY

Bubble Wrap Technique with Instruction Sheet

Playing with bubble wrap and creating new backgrounds adds a pop of color and fun to any card or project! And, if you don't have any bubble wrap laying around the house, I found some for $1 at my local dollar store! It's cheap and easy to use (I actually wiped my down with a damp paper towel and could use the same piece over and over).

Marble Technique with Everything Festive Stamp Set

This 'marble in a box' technique is an oldie but goodie! Have you ever seen it before? If you have then enjoy another sample made with this fun technique and if you haven't, I hope you give it a try. It's super easy and once you get started 'marbeling' everything, you may find you just can't stop.

Below is the card I made with the Everything Festive stamp set. Love this new set because it includes sentiments for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's and winter / New Years.

Marble Technique Tutorial

Card stock Measurements:
  • Whisper White Thick card stock base 5 ½” X 8 ½”; scored and folded in half
  • Basic Black cut to 5 ¼” X 4”
  • White card stock cut to 5” X 3 ¾”

Supplies:

Forgot to include the Stitched Nested Labels Dies (use for the sentiment).

Instructions:
1. Drop several drops of re-inker in a clear case. Add two or three marbles and roll the marbles through the ink. Don't turn the box over yet. Just ink up the marbles on one side of the plastic box. (see picture below)

2. Using the 5” X 3 ¾” piece of white card stock, run a little Snail Adhesive on the back and then stick to the lid (on the inside) of the box.
3. Invert box and roll the marbles over the card stock. Invert the box again and carefully open the box and take out the piece of card stock.
4. Stamp images and add embellishments following the picture.

I've kept the ink in the boxes for several days now and it hasn't dried out. Also, you can wash out the boxes and use different colors. I just run the box under the sink and since the ink is water soluble, it just comes right off.

I hope you enjoy giving this fun technique a try!

God Bless Texas - Cards for Texas Representatives and Senators

Here in Texas the 86th Legislature Regular Session has begun down in Austin, Texas. Now, I've never been one to be up on all the "goings-on" in Austin but I do know that our elected representatives and senators have a big job before them.

So, I got an idea in my head to mail each representative and senator a card to just let them know that there are people in Texas who appreciate what they're doing and are praying for them.

Guess what I didn't figure out until I started this project? There are 150 representatives in Texas and 31 senators! Oh boy! And, that didn't even include our governor Greg Abbott! Needless to say, I needed to call in reinforcements. Thank goodness for friends willing to help out!

Here's the card we worked on together:

When people gather together for a common cause, big things can happen! The six of us assembled 194 cards in one afternoon! Whew! It was a marathon card making day!

We had quite the assembly line going!

These cards should be going in the mail later this week. I'm excited to see what God will do through these cards. They are meant to lift up the men and women in office without any agenda, just letting them know that their work is appreciated and we're praying for them.

No matter who is in office (and if we agree with their policies or not), we need to lift up our leaders and pray for them. They're willing to serve our cities, states, and nation. And for that, I am proud!
