Busy Summer

Have you ever felt like you have a million things you need to do but for some reason can't seem to get any traction to get them done?  That's the way this week (and month) has been for me!  I have enjoyed this summer so much with the kids but I can tell I'm getting to the point of needing a regular schedule again!

I'm a list maker.  So each night I make my list of things I need to do the next day (blogging every day is on that list!) and then, life happens!  So, my list of things I need to get done gets mixed with the list of things the kids want to do and then, before you know it, I've accomplished nothing on my list!  (Having a home based business is tough with two kids around!  If you're in this situation, I'd love to hear your advice on balancing kids and work!)

Well, all of that to say...something positive (several things, actually) has come out of all of this:

  • My kids (and hubby) are super supportive of my "job" with Stampin' Up!  I put "job" in quotes because really it's my passion but the extra money is nice to help pay for the kids activities.
  • I have discovered that I am one busy stamper!  That means, when I have a limited amount of time to create and design projects, I need to create simply and not get too caught up in trying to make my cards "over the top". (This is a constant balancing act for sure because I love all the "bling"!)

I have always liked clean lines and simple designs and making cards that are easily duplicated.  My hope (and goal) for this blog is that you will be inspired by these simple cards & projects knowing that they don't take much time to duplicate.  "Bling" them up if you have time but don't feel like you have to.  Remember the saying "Less is more"?  When my designs are simple, I'm able to:

  • Create more cards (and handmade projects)
  • Write something in the card
  • Actually put the card or handmade item in the mail!!  Isn't that really what it's all about?

So, let me ask you this...."Are you a busy stamper too?"
Then you've come to the right place!!

Here's a fun and easy sample to get you started!
Easily duplicated and can be altered for any occasion!

The designer paper is cut to 3 3/4" X 1 1/2".
The card stock is 3 3/4" X 1 1/4".

  1. I love simple cards! Your different versions are just perfect for all different occasions.

I work at home (unfortunately I can't put mine in quotes like you can!) and summer is the hardest because kids are underfoot. At the beginning of the summer my daughter decided she wanted a particular computer game. I made her use her own money to buy it and it kept her busy and happy all summer long! Now, don't judge me too harshly, she also had to read for 30 minutes and do math for 30 minutes every day this summer, AND she had lots of activities in June outside the house. Next summer I think I need to find some sleep away camps! LOL
