Spring Sunshine Card - Monthly Class for April

I just love this card!  It's so sunny and cheery!  What do you think?

This is one of the cards we'll be making during the April Monthly Stamp Classes.  Wanna come?  Simply check my online calendar and RSVP for the class day/time you'd like to attend!

The Chalkboard Technique has been so popular and I just had to give it a try!  What is this technique, you may ask?  Well, it's pretty simple, actually.  Here are the steps I used to create the blackboard effect:
  • Rub the Embossing Buddy over your piece of black card stock.
  • Stamp sentiment with Versamark and sprinkle on white embossing powder.
  • Heat with a heat tool.
  • Once cool, I cut out the oval shape using the Big Shot and Ovals Collection Framelits.
  • Finally, I used a sponge and rubbed on white craft ink.  You can go as light or as dark as you'd like with the white craft ink.  Mine looks light in the picture, but, in person, it's "chalkier" looking.

Stamp Supplies for this Card:
Stamps:  Feel Goods
Ink:  Versamark
Paper:  Daffodil Delight card stock, Black card stock, Parker's Patterns Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Ovals Collection Framelits, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, White Organza Ribbon, Rhinestones

Have you tried the Chalkboard technique before using a different method?  Leave a comment and let me know how you create this fun look!

Happy Stamping!
