Fashionable Papercrafting

Want to kick your outfit up a notch? Accessorize! Want to take your cards and scrapbook pages up  to the next level? The answer is the same ... accessorize! What kind of accessorizing options does Stampin’ Up! offer? Well ...

Rhinestones & pearls - Add some bling or subtle accents with self-adhesive rhinestones and pearls.

Buttons - A quick and easy way to add some fun dimension to your projects - fun & whimsical, masculine, and vintage ... there are buttons for every mood!

Brads - Great way to add some metallic accents and create different looks from stationery to masculine.

Ribbon - The options are limitless with our ribbon and the variety of textures and colors. Add just a small accent banner or big, beautiful ribbon flower - our ribbon is so versatile that it makes the perfect accessory for any project.

Punches - Add dimension with different punch shapes, highlight images or words, or create your own creature made out of punch shapes ... your imagination is the only limit to all of the ways that you can use punches to accessorize your papercrafting projects.

Glitter - From our Dazzling Diamonds glitter to our Glimmer Paper in 3 different colors, there are lots of fun ways to add sparkle and dazzle to all of your projects - especially your holiday projects that need that festive touch.

What a difference some accessories make!  Can you find the differences in these two projects?

Orders & More Orders

I think the UPS man has been to my house 4 times this week!  I love it when orders arrive!

Every once in awhile as I'm sorting products, I'll  come across an item or two that I hadn't seen before or paid much attention too.  Guess what I saw this morning that is now on MY wish list??

The 3 1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon is so pretty and elegant and comes in three different colors - Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso!  My friend and fellow demonstrator, Janet, created this adorable wine bottle hanger and the tulle just accents it perfectly!  The catalog just doesn't do it justice.

What do you think?  Ready to give the Tulle Ribbon a try?  I think you'll be glad you did!

Stampin' 101: Adhesives

When you flip through the catalog and see there are over 5 types of adhesive- I am sure you are wondering "When would I ever use all of these different types?"  Well, we will make it easier for you! To get started with card making and paper crafting, the two basic essential adhesives are:

 Anywhere Glue Sticks
SNAIL adhesive

Anywhere Glue Stick- Item Number: 104045
When I think of a glue stick, I think of the ones that are listed on my kids "School Supplies" lists. Believe me, this is NOT an Elmer's Glue stick! This is an incredibly strong glue. The Anywhere Glue stick has a rectangular shape so that it will cover all of the corners of your paper! I am not a fan of frayed edges- which is why I always use this particular adhesive!  (And with two glue sticks per pack for $3.95, it's a great value!)

One of the best features of this essential is that after you have glued something down, you have a few seconds to "re-position" it before the glue gets completely dry! There have been numerous times where this feature has been a lifesaver!

SNAIL Adhesive- Item Number: 104332
They call it SNAIL because it leaves behind a sticky trail! This adhesive is extremely easy to use and creates an instant permanent bond. It is refillable, so you don't have to continually buy new dispensers. I find myself using SNAIL every time I create something.  Simply run the adhesive along the back of the paper you're working on and stick in to place (you use it like those old correction tape dispensers - remember those??).

Ok Stampers:  Which adhesive do you prefer - glue stick or Snail?  Does it depend on the project?

Cute Dahlia Card!

With the new catalog comes a TON of new ideas! Just look at these amazing new "In Color Dahlias." They are adorable and so easy to use- all you need is some Glue Dots! Plus, they can be used for ANY occasion- which is such a plus! I love the flower shaped stamps available through Stampin' Up!, but these offer a whole new 3-Dimensional feel! They are so classy, especially when combined with the Marina Mist and Midnight Muse Card Stock. What I love about Stampin' is that is it SO easy and always turns out looking like I spent hours on a project that took about 10 minutes!

I think the Big Shot Embossing Delicate Design Folder really does make all of the difference. A simple card can be transformed with the use of any Embossing folder. It really is those small, simple touches that make the difference.

What do you think? I'd LOVE to hear your feedback!

Retiring Accessories

The retiring accessory list has been posted.  Check out all the items that are retiring
(as well as some being discounted up to 70%).

A couple things to keep in mind you see the list:
  • You'll notice that the ink pads are on the retiring list.  Stampin' Up! has made our awesome ink pads even better!  They are introducing a new firm, foam ink pad on May 1st.  The colors will still be there and the ink pads' shape/size is the same;  it's just the pad itself that's being reconfigured.
  • Accessory items are "while supplies last".  If you see it now and don't purchase it now, it might be gone tomorrow.  Retiring stamp sets will be available through May 31st.
Speaking of retiring items.....
Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 2nd at 11am (10am for club members) for my annual BOGO HOP Sale.

What's a BOGO sale?  When items retire, it's an opportunity for me to purge these stamp sets from my inventory and pass on the savings to you!  On June 2nd, you'll have the opportunity to purchase any amount from the new catalog and receive the same amount in retired items for FREE!

You'll pick out which FREE items you'd like and take them with you.  For example, if you purchase $25 worth of products from the new catalog, you'll get to select $25 worth of retired items for free!

Why is this a BOGO HOP?  This year, other demonstrators in the area will also be having their own BOGO sales and if you visit at least 3 of them, your name will be entered into a drawing for some fabulous prizes!  We'll also be giving away ribbon and card stock samples of the new In Colors.  The more places you visit, the more color samples you'll receive.
