For today's card, I just had to use some of the new Stampin' Up! products that will be coming out in the new  2013 - 2014 Annual Catalog.

For the OWH Blog Hop, I chose sketch #87.  I'm all about cards that are quick and can be easily recreated.  And, as you'll see by how many different versions I came up with, this sketch fit the bill!

This 'Best Friend' card was the card I started out making.

Stamps:  Label Love Set (new)   Ink: Melon Mambo  Paper: Gingham Garden Designer Paper (new)  Accessories: Artisan Label punch (new), Polka Dot Embossing Folder

I've even created a video tutorial for this card.
(Can you tell I really like it?)

Then I changed the paper and the sentiment to create this birthday card:

Stamps:  Label Love Set (new)   Ink: Pumpkin Pie  Paper: Quatrefancy Designer Paper (new)  Accessories: Artisan Label punch (new), Polka Dot Embossing Folder

Then I decided to create a "stepped up" version.  Just by adding another layer of card stock, it really makes the colors pop!  What do you think?

National Night Out 2012

This past Tuesday was National Night Out. It is an event that is held so neighbors can meet one another with the goal to aid in crime and drug prevention. This is our 3rd year to have this event at the park (my kids call this event the "Party in the Park").  We had lots of different food vendors - Don Pablos, The Lunch Box, Westside Cafe, Italian Inn, New Grand Buffet, Papa Johns and Chick-fil-A.  We were all stuffed when all was said and done!

There was also a children's area with clowns making balloon animals, games and a face painter.  My children love going to this 'Party in the Park' and this year was no exception!

Can you guess Allison's favorite part of the evening??

I had a table set up so kids could color "Thank You Hero" pages for Operation Write Home.

We also won several door prizes!!  Carol won a gift certificate to Albertsons, John won a gift certificate to La Playa Maya (yum!!) and Allison won a free shirt and ornament from the Texas Ballet Theater.

What a fun and memorable evening!!
