Halloween, Fall and Christmas All in One Class

This month we'll be creating 3 adorable projects during my monthly stamp classes - a Halloween "Candy Corn" treat bag, a fall fun-fold card and a beautiful poinsettia Christmas card.

Halloween Candy Corn Treat Bag:
I originlly saw this cute candy corn color scheme on a bag during the Stampin' Up! convention back in July. When I saw it, I just knew I had to create it, too! And, it's easier than you think to add the color! All you need is a dauber (or sponge), ink (Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie) and a piece of scratch paper as a "mask".

  • Lay the mask down along the top edge of the paper and with the dauber, rub the Pumpkin Pie ink back and forth on the bag (make this strip about 2 inches wide).
  • Then place the guide over the Pumpkin Pie section and apply the Daffodil Delight ink the same way along the bottom section. Wipe off the excess ink from both sections using a paper towel.

Fall Fun-Fold Card:
I found this adorable card created by Chris Slogar and I just couldn't resist creating it for my class. (Thank you Chris for this adorable card!)

  • The front and back panels of this card are a standard card size (5.5" X 4 1/4"). The inside "z fold" piece measures 11" X 3.5" and it's scored on the 11" side at 2" and 6". The 2" piece adheres to the back of the front of the card. (I hope that's making sense. Please ask if you need any further help.)

Poinsettia Christmas Card:
This pretty Christmas card features the Reason for the Season stamp set from the 2015 Holiday Catalog. So elegant! I just love poinsettias and when I saw this set (with the coordinating Festive Flower Builder punch) I just knew I had to have it.

The corners of this card are also punched using the new Curvy Corner Trio Punch.

It's going to be a fun month of stamp classes! If you live in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, feel free to come! Check out all my events with more details on my online calendar.

Fall and Autumn Card Swaps from Founder's Circle 2015

How about we start Monday off with some amazing fall and autumn card swaps from Founder's Circle? The weather in Texas has not cooled off much (it was 97 degrees today!) but I'm in the mood for fall!  I guess I'll have to resort to cranking up the air conditioning in the house and put on a sweater to make it "feel" more like fall.

Maybe looking at these cards and the fun fall colors will help all get in the cooler weather spirit!

This first card was created by Brian King and I love the colors.

This pretty card was created by Jen Pitta and she used the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set (such a great set to color!).

Jessica Taylor made this pretty card and I really like how she made her own background paper using the Vintage Leaves stamp set. Save 15% when you bundle the Vintage Leaves set with the coordinating Leaflets Framelits. (The Framelits also work with the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set.)

Love this elegant card from Jackie Bolhuis. Does the stamp set look familiar?

Erica Cerwin made this card using the Leaflets Framelits (to cut out the gold leaf). The "hello" sentiment is from the Greetings Thinlits.

The card below was created by Jodi Reinert.  Such a pretty blend of colors!

So, did it work? Are you in the fall spirit? There's just something warm and cozy about these colors and I love all the ideas I received from the swap at Founder's Circle.

Happy Stamping,

Fall Inspiration

Are you ready for fall?  I know I am!  I think when our temperatures here in Texas are still in the 90's, I long even more for fall and cooler temperatures!  What are your favorite fall color combinations?  I think these have to be some of my favorites.

We'll be creating these cards on Friday, October 10th during our monthly demonstrator gathering in Fort Worth.  Would you like to be my guest?  Contact me today if you'd like to attend.  (beckc@rocketmail.com)

This first card uses the Woodgrain Embossing Folder (and the Big Shot) on the background and then I lightly sponged on Chocolate Chip ink to make it "pop".

This little treat box created using the Curvy Keepsake Box Framlit has got to be one of my favorites!  I've been making all sorts of boxes with it!  They're perfect for Halloween treats, Thanksgiving, Christmas and more!

This thank you card is so simple using the Watercolor Thank You stamp and a few leaves.  I used glue dots to hold the leaves together and to adhere them to the card.

This last card using a "thumping technique" on the stamp to create the multi-colored "thanks" image.  I first inked up the entire image with Crumb Cake ink.  I then "thumped" the brush tip of my markers all over the stamp.  I used Tangelo Twist first, then Mossy Meadow and finished with Blackberry Bliss.  Love the little bits of color here and there!

Fall / Autumn Card Ideas

Is it fall yet?  With the temperature outside still near (or over) 100 degrees, it's hard to imagine that fall will be here at the end of the month!  I'm already looking forward to cooler weather and watching the leaves change color.  In the meantime, though, I'm happy to stamp (and dream) about fall!

Here are several fun cards using a new favorite stamp set from the Holiday Catalog - For All Things.

I decided it was time to just play with several different fall colors of inks and for this card I used Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede.  For the background (behind the leaves), I used Hello Honey but I stamped off first on scratch paper and then stamped the lighter version behind each leaf.

Give Thanks for All Things - this has to be my all-time favorite saying!  And, if you ask my kiddos, they know I say this a lot.  It's so true, though!  I believe that we should always be giving thanks for everything - the good, the bad and everything in between.  God can use any and every circumstance for His good and we need to give thanks!

I also came across this beautiful card my friend, Marilyn, created that used this set as well.  Love it!

So much fun playing with the fall colors!  I hope I've inspired you to "think fall" and play with a whole new stamp set, For All Things, in a whole new set of fall colors!  Happy Stamping!

Pouches

While searching for new project ideas, I came across this adorable little pouch from Dawn Olchefske and knew I just had to make it!  Well, I started by making the Christmas pouch and added a hot cocoa packet as well as a tube of mints to the side (found those mints at Wal-Mart of all places!).    Be watching for a video on this little pouch!  They're so much fun to make!!

Then I got to thinking that this would be perfect for little Halloween treats so I made a Halloween version.   Inside is a packet of Apple Cider and I've added a couple Pixy Sticks to the side.  I used the Monster Munchies stamp set on the front - it was the perfect sentiment for this pouch - along with the Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Paper.

Then, I had some fall leaves left over from cards I had made and thought a Fall pouch would also be cute!  I added a package of Apple Cider inside and decided not to attach anything on the side so I just made a bow.  What would you attach to the side of a fall pouch?  Any suggestions?

My next pouch will be one with a little notepad inside and a pen tied to the side.  Wouldn't that make a cute little gift??

Well, I'm off to make more pouches!  Who know's what style I'll come up with next!

Happy stamping and creating!

Fall Leaves

When I saw this technique at convention on how to create these leaves, I knew I had to just give it a try!  It's actually pretty quick and easy to create!  I've been making little "clusters" of these leaves to put on card fronts and gift bags.

I've created a video to show you how easy they are to duplicate.
